Foursquare Partners with Open Table on In-App Reservations for iPhone and Android:
Put down those vending machine crackers right now. Foursquare just announced a partnership with Open Table that lets you find a restaurant and book a table straight from your iPhone or Android.

Foursquare used to be more of a check-in service for chronicling your neighborhood adventures with friends. Since the company added an “Explore” tab, a whole new world has opened up for those who are all dressed up with nowhere to check in. Foursquare can locate restaurants near users’ current locations, offering reviews and menus to make the decision about where to go a little easier.
The company first rolled out the reservations feature to its desktop application in May. Now available for iPhone and Android, the big reservation button is an improvement over trying to type in a phone number and it doesn’t require any talking.
Every restaurant has different rules about when and how to make reservations, but the app tells you immediately if the restaurant doesn’t take last-minute stragglers or if nothing’s available. Finding a back-up plan shouldn’t be a problem – Foursquare says there are thousands of restaurants on Open Table to choose from.
